CAMS is excited to initiate a quarterly meeting series to further leadership and professional development among CAMS members.  This series is co-sponsored by the CAMS Social and Wellness Committees. It is co-led by Dr. Cynthia X. Pan (Chair of the Wellness and Program Committees) and Dr. Paul Lee (past President of CAMS).  The goal is to use our collective wisdom and leadership experiences to help mentor, sponsor, and coach each other through real life scenarios and challenges.  These hybrid in-person and virtual meetings will take place quarterly, with the kick-off session on Nov 10, 2022! Sessions are designed to be confidential, where members can present actual problem scenarios in academic or private practice setting.  Presenters will receive feedback, suggestions, and coaching from other physician leaders.  Interested CAMS members should submit cases to CAMS administrator Jamie Love (jlove@camsociety.org).   Two cases will be selected to be presented and discussed at each session.  The goal over the course of a year is to cover topics such as

  • Skills in Practice Building
  • Academic Promotion
  • Leadership Qualities and Styles
  • Communication Skills and Styles
  • How to build trust
  • How to conduct crucial conversations
  • Negotiation and Conflict Resolution
  • Women and leadership
  • Team Building and Engagement
  • Mentorship, Coaching and Sponsorship
  • The Bamboo Ceiling
  • Emotional Intelligence
