Livia Wan, MD Award of the FCMS Foundation

The goal of this award is to support a medical student of Chinese descent in the United States or Canada.

Eligibility

1. Matriculated in an accredited medical or osteopathic school in the United States or Canada (need a letter from the Dean)
2. A student member of the Chinese American Medical Society
   Applicants must be current or pending CAMS Student members to apply. The CAMS membership application can be found on our website at www.camsociety.org/membership 

A scholarship of $20,000 USD will be awarded to the recipient. The award will be presented to at the CAMS & CAIPA Red Lantern Gala in New York City on November 2, 2024.

Limitation: One award per lifetime

Checklist of Required Documents

1. Complete and submit the online application form
2. Application (emailed to scholarship@camsociety.org):   
   Within a maximum of 5 pages, include the following sections in your application:
   1. Signed Cover Page
   2. Personal statement, please include your career goals (maximum 1 page)
   3. BioSketch or CV (maximum 2 pages)
   4. A letter from the Dean of Students or Registrar's Office verifying that the applicant is in good standing*
      
   5. One letter of recommendation*

Format

All supporting documents submitted directly from the applicant should be typed single spaced in Times New Roman Font Size 12. Page Margins should be 1” for top, bottom, left, and right margins. Please do not use page borders or text boxes.
