Past, Present, Future: Healthcare of the Chinese in America

Conference Objectives

Knowledge:

Review recent advances in medical and surgical fields.
Summarize challenges facing medical & surgical fields.
Describe the effects of these changes on the care of the Chinese patients.

Competence:

Examine how recent advances have been incorporated into guidelines and best practices.
Analyze the risks and benefits of new advances for patient care.

Practice:

Identify and refer patients who can benefit from recent advances in medical and surgical fields.
Identify patients who are vulnerable to challenges caused by current changes.
Modify practice to accommodate new advances.
Educate staff and patients about advances in a culturally competent manner.
